Keeping with my now 11 year tradition of theming years, I present 2020 as:
The Year of Vision
Vision is more than just the ability to see. Vision is the composite image of our goals complete with specifics that spark our imaginations and sustain our joy. Vision is the destination that makes the journey worthwhile. For in working towards our vision or ‘manifesting' as some would say, we turn our imaginations and wildest dreams, into realities and truths.
They say hindsight is 20/20. Foresight can also be 2020. The cultural start of the decade, 2020 is the beginning of a new era, and a moment for us to reflect on where we want to go and why. Let 2020 be the year where we boldly imagine the paths we wish to embark on and the people we wish to be. With goals and resolutions serving as our roadmaps, vision is the North Star guiding us ever forward.
In a concrete sense, ‘The Year of Vision’ could mean periodically taking time to envision exactly what we want our future to be in any sphere. From work to play, professional to personal, and everything in between, being deliberate with our vision will better ground our actions and inform how to more efficiently spend our time. Finally, with the world becoming ever more distracting and and as the world continues to throw obstacles and smokescreens our way, focusing and re-focusing on our North Stars, on our vision, will keep us inspired and our dreams and aspirations in sight.
